This is a 3 day non-residential course that teaches Scouts all they need to know about construction and "Pioneering". At the end of the course, they will qualify for their Construction Badge (at any level). It is being run by Benowie District at the Normanhurst Scout Hall, Harris Road, Normanhurst on:
Friday 26th August 2011 – 7pm, to 9.30pm Saturday 27th August 2011 – 8am to 4pm Sunday 28th August 2011 – 8am to 4pm
All participants must have achieved the SCOUTCRAFT BADGE and be proficient in BASIC BENDS AND HITCHES. i.e. reef knot, sheet bend, sheepshank, clove hitch, round turn and two half hitches, bowline & rolling hitch.
Uniform is to be worn on Friday Night, Hat and Scarf only for Saturday and Sunday. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring a mug and your own lunch. Please bring gardening gloves to protect your hands from splinters on Sunday as you will be working with wooden poles.
