Thursday 30th Aug: Father's Day Shootout!!!

posted 6 Aug 2012, 00:14 by Epping Scouts   [ updated 6 Aug 2012, 00:30 ]
It's on again!! The (now to be) annual Epping Scouts Father's Day Shootout!!!

Last year's visit to the Rifle range was such a big hit, we're making it an annual event to coincide with Father's Day. We will be going to the North Sydney Small Bore Rifle Club where we will be instructed in the safe use of a firearm and then get to fire a rifle. The rifles we will be using are .22 caliber, which mean that they are light and hardly have any recoil. Unfortunately though, only Scouts who are 12 and over are allowed to fire rifles, but you may come and watch and learn for the next time.

The A1 permission note is attached, also please note the additional P650 consent form that the Club requires - no A1 and P560 = no shoot. Parents - please make sure you read and fill in this additional form.

Dads (and mums as well if you have a keen eye - like Kanga) are invited to participate, but note that the Club has a limit of 25 (30 as an absolute) shooters, so we will have to give priority to Scouts if we get a large turnout.

The cost is $20 which includes all the nights instruction and 50 shots. Please hand your A1 permission note, P650 form and $20 to Shaggy ASAP so that we can confirm numbers for this once in a lifetime (until next yearevent.

Note that this is is a Thursday night and we will not hold a Wednesday night meeting this week.
