Survival Hike

What is it?
    - Patrol-based overnight hike in cold weather
    - The hike is of "medium” difficulty with some steep  grades
When is it?
    - 9am Saturday 22nd until "after Lunchtime”Sunday 23rd June
Where is it?
    - We catch the train from Epping to Cowan Station
    - hike about 8km to Brooklyn Dam via the Jerusalem Bay,
    - Camp overnight at Brooklyn Dam
    - hike about 2KM to Brooklyn
    - Have Ice Cream
    - Catch a train back from Brooklyn to Epping Station
Who Should go?
    - All Scouts are encouraged to go as part of their training for their "Cord" hikes
    - Moderately fit Parents are also welcome
What do I need to bring?
    - Pack
    - Mess kit
    - sleeping bag
    - rain coat
    - clothes suitable for cold weather
How much will it cost?
    - $15 per participant will cover food
    - On top of that, bring enough to cover your train fare from Epping to Cowan (about $5 should be sufficient)
    - Money for Ice Cream (optional)
