Cockatoo Island Camp. Sat 22nd - Sun 23rd November

Enjoy the experience of camping in the middle of one of the World's great harbours - Sydney Harbour!!! In addition, travelling to the Island will be an adventure in itself. There will be participants travelling by sail, canoe and ferry, but co-ordinated to arrive and setup on the Island at 12:00 on Sat and leave by 15:00 on Sun

Modes of transport:

  • Sailing – start from Meadowbank Boatshed @09:00 Sat, return to Meadowbank by 17:00 Sun. Sailors must either have been an active participant in our sailing program or demonstrate prior sailing experience
  • Canoeing – Start from Burns Bay Reserve @09:00 Sat, return to Burns Bay by 16:30 Sun – then to Meadowbank by 17:00 Sun. Canoeists must either hold a valid Scout Canoeing qualification or demonstrate prior canoeing experience.
  • Ferry – Catch the ferry from Meadowbank @11:10, return via 14:58 ferry arriving at Meadowbank 15:30 Sun. Ferry riders must demonstrate that they can sit still for at least 2 minutes and 21 seconds. For more detailed ferry timetable, see the Transport NSW web site
Family members wellcome to join us, but please be aware that we have only pre-booked 24 camping slots. Please register your interest early. For more information on the Cockatoo island experience see their web site.
