Clean Up Australia: Sunday 2nd March, 2014

In 1989, Ian Kiernan organised a "Clean Up Sydney Harbour" day with more than 40,000 Sydneysiders donating their time and energy to clean up the harbour.  The first official Clean Up Australia event was in January 1990 with almost 300,000 volunteers and this is increasing every year.

To do our bit, we will be hosting a Clean Up Australia site at Meadowbank, just near our boatshed which is located at 150 Bowden St, Meadowbank (adjacent to the MEadowbank Ferry Wharf) from 9:00 until 12:00 on Sunday 2nd March 2014.  Sign in and register when you arrive at the site.  Bring good closed in shoes and gardening gloves.  Youth members will be assisted by leaders and other adults to ensure the safety of the group if some hazardous materials are found.

As a thank you to the volunteers, we will be running a sausage sizzle from about 12:00 and asking for a Gold Coin donation to assist with the costs.

Everyone attending will also need to complete a permission note - see below - and bring it with then on the day. Please also click on the following link and then click on "Join this Site" to register - this gives the organisers an idea of how many volunteers will be attending, if you choose to do so, you can also make a donation on this web page..
